Pick three SEO actions for a live site each week

Each weekly round ends with three actions, and each one has a reason, a page, and a date to check it again. Your assistant also finds where clicks, visits, or ranks fell, and the likely cause.

Example

You ask

Clicks fell this month. What happened, and what should I do first?

The assistant

Your assistant confirms the drop on complete days in both windows, then splits Search Console by page and query to find where it fell. It checks your change log, Google's status dashboard, and rivals, then reports the likely cause and at most three actions.

Use it when

  • You run a weekly or monthly review of a live site.
  • You ask what to fix or write next.
  • Clicks, visits, or ranks fell, and you need to know where and why.

You give it

  • Your RankMySEO account, or direct access to Search Console and GA4 if you do not use RankMySEO.
  • Your plan. Some steps need Starter or above.
  • The change log from earlier rounds, so recent actions and their check dates are known.
  • Any competitors you have saved, if you track rivals.

It returns

  • Three actions, ranked by impact and then effort. Each one has its page, the reason with its number and source, and a check.
  • A short backlog for anything beyond the three.
  • For a drop: what fell, where, the likely cause and its evidence, what could not be checked, and at most three actions.
  • A monthly summary with the 28-day trend and which of last month's actions worked.

How the skill runs

  1. Confirm the account and headlines

Check account_status for your plan and any refusal, then read project_overview for headline numbers and next steps. Do not run every step each round. Pick the ones the last round left open.

  2. Read the to-do lists

Read the top rows of next_actions, and page_updates on Starter and above. Leave keep pages and wait rows alone. If page_updates answers no_pages, open the site's pages in the dashboard so they are read, then try again next round.

  3. Read search data and keywords

Pull the last 28 days of Search Console against the 28 days before. Check list_keywords, and run keyword_history on any keyword that dropped.

  4. Check issues and page owners

Use site_issues when next_actions shows on-page problems, and issue_pages for the URLs behind one issue. Use site_pages to see which page owns which keyword.

  5. Check rivals and links

When rivals are saved, use keyword_gap and competitor_traffic. Run backlink_review only when you ask about links, or when lost links go to important pages.

  6. Check what visitors do

Read the GA4 pages report, through analytics_pages in RankMySEO or a direct connector, to see what visitors do after they land.

  7. Choose three and write them

Rank candidates by impact, then effort. Stop at three and put the rest in a short backlog. Write each action as one sentence that starts with a verb, then give its page, reason, and check.

Where it stops

  • Clicks in page_updates set the order of work and forecast nothing.
  • Keywords and competitors are added only with your yes. Pages are never deleted in a weekly round.
  • Recovery after a core update can take months, so the skill sets a next check date instead of a deadline.
  • If a plan limit blocks a step, your assistant names the limit and gives the next window or the upgrade path.

Questions before you install

Does this loop need RankMySEO?

Most steps do. Without an account, your assistant runs the Search Console and GA4 steps through a direct connector, and says which steps are missing.

How often should I run it?

Weekly is the normal round. The monthly summary runs the same loop over the last 28 days, against the 28 days before. A daily digest runs only when GA4 or Search Console is connected.

What if my visits or ranks dropped?

Your assistant confirms the drop, finds where it fell, and checks your own changes, Google's status dashboard, and rival movement before it names a cause. A small drop on a page that still ranks well needs no big change.
